After retiring from serving 35 years as Bon Homme County Register of Deeds in his home town of Tyndall, South Dakota, Elton has dedicated his time and energy to visiting schools and different groups in the region to share both his story and insight about how to respond to bullying behavior.

   In his autobiography and in his presentations Elton gives much of the credit for his lifetime of success to his wife, Alice, who has shared nearly 40 years of her life with Elton and their two sons.
